Classroom Rules and Procedures
- Students and teachers will show respect to:
- Other students
- Guest speakers
- Substitute teachers
- Classroom and school property
- The rules and the procedures of the classroom
- During classroom hours students will understand proper use of electronic devices:
- Laptops are for academic purposes only.
- Cellphones will be located in bookbags or cellphone holders only.
- Smartwatches will be same as above.
- Earbuds are to be kept in bookbags except during down times when music will be allowed.
- Leaving the classroom
- Bathrooms are not located in this building so leaving for bathroom purposes are for emergencies only and upon request.
- Drinking fountain is located in this building and is available for every student.
- Assignments
- Due dates are provided…please submit on due dates
- Late work:
- 3 days to submit if you are absent
- If you just didn’t do it you will not be allowed to submit late work.
- Life happens and there are exceptions to this on a case-by-case base.
- Plagiarism and A.I. – You are not to use these methods to complete your work. If caught the assignment will be an automatic “0” with no opportunity to redo the assignment.
- Extra Credit
- Only available for those who have completed regular assignments
- Will be limited in point value
- Designed for those interested in improving their grade
- Will be a written assignment of my choosing
- Grading
- Grades will be calculated by weighting 80% from assessments and 20% from practice assignments. Final grades will be calculated on the following traditional scale:
A = 93-100 D+= 67-69
A- = 90-92 D= 63-66
B+= 87-89 D-= 60-62
B= 83-86 F= 59 and below
B-= 80-82 I= Incomplete
C+= 77-79
C= 73-76
C-= 70-72
- NOTE: Practice assessments means any in class assignments due at end of class period.
- Assessments are from Reading (20%), Writing (20%), Formative (20%) and Summative (20%)
